Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management Curriculum Highlights

Concentrations

Supply chain management majors will choose a concentration for this degree. Supply chain management topics serve as focal points for these concentrations, allowing you to home in on specific areas of interest. Each concentration requires a prescribed number of credit hours and required courses relating to topical areas, such as government contracting, reverse logistics, and transportation management.

Accreditation

AMU’s supply chain management program has achieved specialty accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, which accredits business, accounting, and business-related programs at the associate, bachelor, master, and doctoral degree levels. 

The University is a part of American Public University System, which is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (hlcommission.org), an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Accreditation ensures that you will be receiving an education that meets rigorous standards for academics and institutional integrity.

Can This Supply Chain Management Degree Be Earned Online?

At AMU, supply chain management students can earn a BA in supply chain management online. Our bachelor’s degree in supply chain management is constructed specifically for an online environment. 

AMU’s online bachelor’s degree in supply chain management is asynchronous, which means that students can log in anytime from any location with an internet connection. Supply chain management majors will have:

Transfer Opportunities

Your military service or professional military training may help you earn your online bachelor’s degree more quickly. That’s because AMU accepts up to 90 transfer credits toward a bachelor’s degree program—and that may include your military service. 

Students can request a no-cost Transfer Credit Evaluation to determine potential transferable college credit.1

How to Pay for the Supply Chain Management Degree

AMU is focused on providing relevant, affordable education to students in the military as well as other service-driven professionals. AMU also offers no-cost ebooks at the undergraduate and master’s level to all active-duty U.S. servicemembers, Reservists, National Guard, and military families.

There are several options for financing your studies:

AMU’s Preferred Military Rate of $250 per credit hour is available to all U.S. active duty servicemembers, National Guard members, and Reservists. Military family members, including military parents, spouses, legal partners, siblings, and dependents, are also eligible for the Preferred Military Rate. 

You may be able to take advantage of education benefits through the GI Bill benefits. AMU’s expert team of financial aid advisors stand ready to help veterans navigate and maximize their benefits.

AMU also offers a special grant to veterans to reduce tuition further. If you are a veteran, ask about your eligibility for this grant.

Although AMU does not offer scholarships, there are many private sources for scholarship funds. Unlike loans, scholarships are gift funds and do not need to be repaid. 

Private loan programs are offered by private loan companies, banks, and credit unions.

A BBA, or bachelor of business administration, is an undergraduate degree. A BBA in supply chain management can help students build a foundational understanding of logistics and supply chain operations from a business perspective. Supply chain management programs at the bachelor level will typically take a deeper look at the subject than an associate degree.

American Military University offers a bachelor of arts in supply chain management with a deep focus on the supply chain industry.

Supply chain management requires that students learn fundamental business concepts, accounting, economics, general education, leadership skills, and the practical aspects of moving finished goods, material, and personnel from one point to another.

A supply chain management degree is designed to prepare students to understand and tackle all aspects of the supply chain industry, logistics management (structuring the flow of raw materials and all the components involved in procurement, production, information exchange, scheduling, purchasing, finance, workforce support) and transportation (deliveries, returns) with an eye toward efficiency and quality.
